L2A of French and Spanish obstruent-liquid clusters (Colantoni & Steele 2004-05)

Description: This study tested English-speaking L2 learners of French and Spanish on the same obstruent-liquid clusters as tested with native French and Spanish speakers in Colantoni & Steele (2003-04). Learners were all university educated and ranged in age from 18-55.

Data elicitation: Participants read the target words (n=49) mixed with distractors (n=27) in carrier sentences in random order three times (Rounds A,B,C). They also read the language-appropriate version of the fable 'The Northwind and the Sun'.
