Romance Language Survey

Description: The Romance Language Survey is an on-going project designed to collect speech samples of the five major Romance languages (French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish). Data are collected in Toronto from native speakers and second/third language learners.

Data elicitation: Participants read a set of words in a carrier sentence; read the language-appropriate version of the fable 'The Northwind and the Sun'; retell the story of Red Ridinghood based on a set of pictures; and describe their favourite meal.
